Police seal ASCSN secretariat as members protest
The Association of Senior Civil Servants National Secretariat (ASCSN) was shut down by the police after resentful protesters entered the building in the state's Yaba district to voice their displeasure with the leaders' allegedly dishonest business activities.

The association's leadership claimed that they invited the police to prevent a complete collapse of law and order while describing why the national secretariat in Lagos was sealed off by the police.

The aggrieved expelled members, led by the former president Comrade Bola-Audu Innocent and some aggrieved members, tried to force their way into the secretariat with their hired hoodlums who came with various charms and other dangerous weapons, according to the ASCSN secretary-general, Comrade Alade Bashir Lawal, who made this known.

“So, the police was invited to help prevent confrontation with them and also to help restore law and order.

“Expelled members besiege National Secretariat of ASCSN in Lagos. Following attempt to forcefully invade the National Secretariat of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria in Lagos today by expelled members of the union including the former President, Bola-Audu Innocent.”

“The Lagos State Police Command advised that the Secretariat should close for business today so as to avoid a breakdown of law and order.

“Innocent Bola-Audu was accompanied in the invasion of the ASCSN National Secretariat by some retired staff as well as suspected hoodlums including marabouts who openly displayed their charms. We wish to request our teeming members throughout the country to remain calm as the situation is under control.”

It would be recalled that the former president, Bola-Audu Innocent has been at logger head with the current leadership of the union being led by Comrade (Dr) Tommy Etim Okon, over his expulsion following his anti-union activities.
