Sodiq aka Foreigner and Habeeb aka Kiki, two infamous armed robbers who terrorised Lagos' Apapa, Ajegunle, and surrounding areas, were shot and killed by police.

The encounter with the two robbers also resulted in the recovery of firearms and ammunition, according to a statement released on Sunday by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos Police Command.

He claimed that Foreigner and Kiki had engaged police officers in a gunfight in an effort to avoid being apprehended, but they were ultimately defeated by the law enforcement officers' superior firepower.

“The daredevil robbers engaged operatives of Area B Apapa in a gun duel in a bid to escape arrest. They however, fell to the superior firepower of the police operatives.

“One of the robbers, Sodiq was recently released from prison. Both have been wanted for terrorising Ajegunle and environs.”

According to Hundeyin, the criminals were tracked to their hiding place, where they met their demise.

He claimed that the burglars left behind one beretta handgun, one locally produced revolver pistol with four live 9mm rounds, and one spent shell of ammo.

He specifically warned young people to stop committing crimes since they would eventually be caught by the long arm of the law.
