Algeria’s Fennec Foxes subdue Nigeria’s Super Eagles 2-1
In an internationally friendly held in Oran, Algeria overcame a deficit to defeat Nigeria's Super Eagles 2-1.

Terem Moffi's tap-in of a stray ball gave Nigeria the advantage in the well-attended game in the eighth minute.

Ademola Lookman gave Nigeria a 2-0 lead toward the end of the first half, but the goal was disallowed by the centre referee for offside.

Before Algeria tied the score at 1-1 in the 41st minute with a penalty kick by Riyadh Mahrez, the home team had taken control of the game.

Youcel Atal's long-range shot past Francis Uzoho in the 60th minute gave the home team a 2-1 lead as Algeria maintained their lead in the second half.

Despite spirited efforts by the Eagles, they failed to level up the match for the encounter to end 2-1 in favour of the home team.

The win again confirmed the supremacy of the Algerians over Nigeria in their last two meeting in an international friendly.
