On September 9, 2022, in Benin City, Edo State, agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detained seven alleged internet fraudsters.
Following actionable intelligence regarding the suspects' alleged involvement in internet-related fraud, the suspects were apprehended at their hiding places.
They are Akele Aisosa, Ekoh Godswill, Daniel Chidube Emeka, and Idemudia Lawson Osarodion.
Others include Osaigbovo Lawrence, Junior Osagie, and Idemudia Destiny Eghosa.
Three Mercedes Benz GLK 350s, one Lexus RX 350, one Mercedes Benz C400 AMG, and several phone brands were among the items found at the scene of the arrest.
Similar to this, on September 7, 2022, the EFCC's Benin Zonal Command detained 11 alleged internet fraudsters.
They were apprehended in their different hideouts in Benin City, Edo State, as a result of the Commission's actionable intelligence being examined.
The suspects are Bright Obaro, Efe Edomwonyi, Tony Osarobo, Moses Osazee, Okon Destiny, and Ojo Festus. Precious Aghedo, Harmony Enobakhare, Oluwafemi Adigun, and Gift Inedegbor are some of the others.
At the time of their arrest, four automobiles, four different brands of mobile phones, and laptops were found on them.
The suspects will shortly be arraigned in court, according to officials with the anti-graft organisation.
Shekoni Kayode Taofeek and Shekoni Habeeb Damilare, as well as Adegbe Thankgod, were found guilty by Justices Adebayo Yusuf of the Kwara State High Court in Ilorin and Muhammed Sani of the Federal High Court in Ilorin.
