The proposed first edition of the State's investment summit, dubbed the "GoInvest 2022 Summit," has a steering committee, headed by Deputy Governor Manasseh Daniel Jatau of Gombe State.

The committee's secretary will be Dr. Ishiyaku Mohammed, Special Advisor on Budget, Planning, and Development Partners.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya instructed the committee members to devote their time to making sure the summit draws investors who will aid in the economic development of Gombe State at the virtual inauguration ceremony.

He urges the committee to take the assignment seriously, adding, “devote our time so that we have investors that will help in arresting the socio-economic challenges that are confronting us,”

He gave the committee the following terms of reference: Provide strategic guidance in the actualisation and successful hosting of Gombe Investment Summit; liaise with Government and private sector operators; Ensure participation in the summit and drive pre-summit engagements and post-summit follow-ups”.

The steering committee had other members such as the Chairman of Gombe State Investment and Property Development Company Limited, Dr Umaru Kwairanga; Managing Director/CEO, Central Securities Clearing Systems Plc, Haruna Jalo Waziri and the State Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development, Mohammed Gambo Magaji.

The summit, which is facilitated by the Gombe State Government and other partners, will also be under the patronage of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission in Gombe State.

GoInvest 2022 summit, with the theme “Industrialization, the pathway to Innovation, Transformation and Development of Gombe State,” aims to find, engage, and attract new investment leads, market Nigeria as a top investment location, and facilitate interactions between potential investors and the state.

It is also geared toward engaging Business to Business and Business to Government meetings as well as Ready to Offer Investment Projects, Premium Land, Public Private Partnership (PPP) Projects, and other opportunities that would all be open to investors, financiers, investment facilitation agents, and companies interested in doing business with the Gombe State.

The Summit also hopes to facilitate agreements that would promote growth in key industries and demonstrate Gombe State’s leadership in the fight against climate change.

Considering its strategic location in the North East zone, Gombe State provides a favourable investment environment for investors.

It could be recalled that the state ranks Number one in the ease of doing business, acts as a logistical centre and a gateway to Northern Nigeria, Nigeria, Africa, and the global markets.

The summit is expected to hold between October 11th and 12th 2022.
