Gunmen kidnap cleric, chief justice’s brother in Plateau community
In the Plateau State local government area of Riyom, suspected gunmen kidnapped Reverend Bung Fon Dong, a member of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), and James Mann, the Chief Justice of Plateau State's younger brother, on Sunday.

According to sources, the shooters entered the neighbourhood at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday with high-tech weaponry and fired randomly into the air.

According to reports, the assailants barged into the cleric's official apartment and kidnapped him while holding him at gunpoint. His wife, who was trying to save him, was shot in the leg.

When the gunmen fled on motorcycles, Reverend Dong was promptly carried away and his injured wife was later transported to the neighbouring medical facility by neighbours.

Another group of armed men reportedly broke into the home of James Mann, the younger brother of Justice David Mann, the Chief Justice of Plateau State, and the Principal of Government Secondary School Bum in the same Ganawuri neighbourhood.

He was fortunate, though, as a group of vigilantes and hunters attacked the assailants and freed him from his captors.

Atten Youths Song Mare, the president, who confirmed the occurrence, said the community has been under kidnappers' siege for quite some time and that no fewer than four people had been kidnapped recently.

Men from the Command were on the lookout for the kidnappers, according to Plateau Police spokesman DSP Alfred Alabo, who confirmed the incidence.
