Hon. Henry Gotip, the head of the Kanke local government council in Plateau State, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
He was taken in the wee hours of Wednesday from his home in Jos.
According to a source who asked to remain anonymous, gunmen attacked the home at Kwang in the Jos North local government district and began shooting before escorting him away.
The head of the council in Plateau state doubles as the organization's secretary.
According to sources, the gunmen abducted the Council boss at around one in the morning.
The event was confirmed by ASP Alfred Alabo of the Plateau Police.
"Yes, there was a kidnapping case, and the police are on their trial of abductors," he told The Nation.
