Ifeanyi Okowa: APC brought poverty, hunger, unemployment to Nigeria
According to Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta State and vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria is concerned because the country's economy has been mismanaged by the All Progressives Congress, which is currently in power (APC).

He made this statement on Saturday at an empowerment programme for residents of the Ika Federal Constituency of the State, which was organised at Boji-Boji Owa, Ika North East local government area, by Mr. Victor Nwokolo, the representative for the constituency in the House of Representatives.

The governor praised Nwokolo for his act of giving hope to the hopeless while attending the event, calling it a "empowerment programme with a difference." The governor was present alongside the State House of Assembly Speaker, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, and State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Kingsley Esiso.

He continued by saying that even pupils were facing many difficulties since their parents were unable to provide for them due to the amount of poverty brought on by the Federal Government's incompetence under the APC.

Because the PDP is the only party with a comprehensive understanding of the problems facing the country and a clear plan to solve them, Okowa urged Nigerians to support it.

“The important thing is that we know the issues troubling our nation and we have a clear pathway for rescuing and rebuilding the nation,” he said.

He commended Nwokolo for the empowerment and noted that it was a show of love to the people and prayed that the beneficiaries would utilise the items and equipment for the common good of the people.

“I also pray that the students who benefitted from this gesture will study hard and become successful for the good of their families and our people,” Okowa added.

Earlier, Hon. Nwokolo had said that his motive for the empowerment programme was to restore hope to the hopeless amid rising hunger and poverty in the land.

Items presented to beneficiaries at the ceremony included cars, mini buses, tricycles, cassava processing machines, oil processing mills, block processing equipment, generators, transformers, sewing machines, educational grants and motorcycles.
