The Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, condemned yesterday's attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, his police aides, and orderlies in Enugu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, which it dubbed "barbaric and evil."
The pro-Biafra group bemoaned that the attack, which they described as startling and unjustified, was too painful and strange for Ndigbo and had never occurred before in the history of Igboland.
As it has launched into action to expose the offenders, IPOB has sworn that it must also expose the individuals who are behind it. By the time it exposes and arrests the perpetrators, IPOB promises that the people of the South-East will finally laugh.
In a statement by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, entitled: “Attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and his team; act of cowardice, uncultured and unwarranted”, IPOB vowed to unravel the perpetrators and urged Ndigbo not to panic as it is on the trail of the perpetrators and will soon make their identities known.
IPOB’s statement read: “The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has condemned in strong terms, the barbaric and wicked attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and other individuals in Enugu Ukwu in Njilkoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, which was said to have claimed the lives of over three Police men and three civilians.”
