Mauro Icardi has discovered a team where he can play. The striker is hoping to excel at Galatasaray after struggling to crack PSG's starting lineup.

The 29-year-old could not afford to sit out the entire campaign. Icardi was compelled to hunt for a club where he can get regular game time after the World Cup in November.

Galtier made it obvious that PSG would not be relying on him. In reality, he ultimately left him off the Champions League roster; had he remained, he would have only been able to participate in the knockout rounds.

Icardi may now play some football before the World Cup in Qatar thanks to this trade. He travelled from Paris to Istanbul on Wednesday to finalise his transfer to Galatasaray for the current campaign.

The teams have decided on a one-season loan. Furthermore, PSG will cover more than 60% of the Argentinian international's wages, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Icardi started playing for the French team in the 2019–20 campaign. He appeared in 92 games and scored 38 goals. The forward spent three seasons at Paris, where he won two Ligue 1 championships (in 2020 and 2022) as well as two French Cups, a League Cup, two French Super Cups, and two French Cups (2020 and 2022).
