On September 27 at the New Stadium in Oran, Algeria, there will be a friendly match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Desert Warriors of Algeria.
Both countries missed out on qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with Algeria losing out to Cameroon and Nigeria losing out to their archrivals Ghana.
The Black Stars of Ghana were originally scheduled to play Algeria in the international friendly, but Ghana withdrew, forcing the Algerian football officials to find a replacement opponent.
In the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final, Algeria defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 thanks to a free kick from Man City winger Riyadh Mahrez in the 95th minute.
Algeria will go on to win Senegal in the final thanks to a Baghdad Bounedjah second-minute strike.
The match is expected to be a tough test for Super Eagles manager, Jose Pesiero as Algeria have always proven to be a tough opponent for the Super Eagles.
