Remi Tinubu: What I will do when my husband emerges president
Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the APC's presidential candidate, declared that if she is elected first lady of the nation in 2023, she will give voice to the voiceless.

She made this statement on Saturday in Abuja while she met with widows, IDPs, and those with special needs in the Karon-Majigi Ward of Gwarimpa and Yar Goje Community of Abuja Municipal Area Council.

Remi clarified that the purpose of the trip was to encourage the less fortunate and let them know that she understood their plight rather than to engage in political campaigning.

“I am here today because of the work ahead of us, you don’t just jump into the waters without learning how to swim.

“This is like a familiarisation tour to every part of Abuja, to know the people who have special needs and to see how we can ameliorate their sufferings.

“Because in a situation like this, they are more like voiceless, so we are here to see and assure them that they are not alone and that we feel their pains.

“So at least, if God happens to get us to that exalted position, we don’t just go there blindly without really understanding what is in our communities and environs,” Remi Tinubu said.

Before the general elections in 2023, she declared she would travel to various towns to learn firsthand about what was happening there.

She also explained that this will help her to understand how to best address the requirements of the populace.

She remarked that despite clear difficulties, the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari had done so well.

If elected, she continued, the Tinubu-Shettima administration would build on Buhari's accomplishments to guarantee a better standard of living for all Nigerians and the advancement of the nation.

Nana Shettima, wife of Sen. Kashim Shettima, an APC vice-presidential candidate, and the party's national women leader were among those who joined Remi Tinubu at the occasion.

In the neighbourhoods he visited, Tinubu—who is currently the senatorial representative for Lagos Central—distributed food items such as rice, maize, beans, cartons of Indomie noodles, vegetable oil, and condiments to the less fortunate.

She also gave community members a gift of money to divide.
