Adamawa State now has 39 Teacher Resource Centers (TRCs) spread throughout 20 LGAs thanks to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) (TPD).
The announcement was made in Yola during a meeting with the media by Mr. Audu Liman, the party's head of staff for the organisation Strengthening Education in Northeast Nigeria States, or SENSE.
For 403,282 pupils in Adamawa and Gombe states' elementary grades 1, 2, and 3, SENSE exercises have reportedly improved reading outcomes, according to Liman.
He added that in order to ensure effective community-level advocacy and monitoring, 335 school-based management committees (SBMC) had their capability upgraded.
The SENSE program was launched in March 2019 and is funded by USAID's education approach of utilizing key evidence-based interventions to address some of the challenges confronting Nigeria's education sector.
The program aims to address challenges such as lower primary teachers' poor early grade teaching skills and a lack of a data-driven teacher professional development strategy to improve teacher capacity.
Furthermore, there is a lack of parental involvement in school-based teaching and learning, as well as a lack of education managers' skills in providing supportive supervision to teachers.
