The Rotary Club has been invited to collaborate with civil society organisations to guarantee the integrity and safety of the general elections in 2023.
The request was made over the weekend at the induction of eight new members and the inauguration of Rotarian Macdonald Ukaeru, the chief executive officer of Come Homes and Properties, as the 35th President of Rotary Club of Victoria Island East.
The event's chairman, Sola Olatunji, who was represented by Mr. Tunde Longe, FCA, noted that the general elections of 2023 are approaching and recommended the group to collaborate with organisations that promote peace projects nationwide, stating that "anything one does to mankind goes a long way."
Babarinde Balogun, executive director of Hillel Integrated Resources Limited; Chinyere Mordi, regional manager of Globacom Limited; Catherine Onotu, business tycoon; Nwajide Angus, business tycoon; and Mary Ini Udu, accomplished entrepreneur, are among the newly inducted members. Emilia Nweke, a manager of human capital management and project development, Oluwabusola Kayode, a specialist in human resources, and Imonighara Ese, a lawyer, were among the others.
Speaking at the occasion, the new President expressed gratitude for being given the opportunity to lead the organisation and urged attendees to help his administration in achieving its goals. He mentioned that the group was coming together due of the members' love for mankind and said that he had recently joined the group five years ago so that he could help those who needed it.
