In Katsina State, North-West Nigeria, over 16,625 houses have been destroyed by flood and windstorms, killing no less than 24 persons.
The flood of this year, which has flooded homes, communities, and farmlands, is currently causing problems in other states of the federation.
According to a statement by KASEMA's spokesperson, Umar Muhammad, disasters have been reported in all 34 of the state's local government areas during the current rainy season.
The statement claims that numerous additional people were hurt by the natural calamities to varying degrees.
Muhammed continued by saying that as of right now, the catastrophes have destroyed 16,625 homes and submerged 1,620 acres of farmland in the Kafur, Danja, and Ingawa Local Government Areas.
He added that the calamities had devastated farm produce and property worth millions of Naira.
The SEMA spokeswoman continued by saying that the organisation had already evaluated the impacted homes and farmlands in order to help the victims and that the State Government will soon begin distributing aid to them.
