At least 15 stores, as well as a number of trucks and cars, were set on fire by gunmen on Friday in Amoka, Anambra State.
The over ten thugs opened fire nonstop and smashed multiple automobiles.
The gunshot sparked chaos as locals and visitors fled in search of safety while abandoning their businesses and automobiles.
In Imo state, there was also significant traffic that extended to Mgbidi and Awo-omma.
In the middle of the chaos, a number of stores were robbed by thugs whose intentions were still unknown at the time this story was filed.
Ikenga Tochukwu, the Anambra Police Public Relations Officer, could not be reached.
However, a senior police officer who wished to remain anonymous confirmed the attack.
The source said the Anambra State Police Commissioner, Echeng Echeng, had already deployed security operatives to the area.
The officer said: “These boys have come again but we’re not going to allow them succeed.”
