The Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency has announced that it will launch a nationwide measles programme that will target one million kids under five in the state's 20 Local Government Area Councils.
This was said on Monday in Bauchi by the agency's State Health Educator, Mr. Ridadu Mohammed.
The exercise, according to him, would start on October 20.
According to Mohammed, 1,752 teams would be sent out to man both permanent and temporary positions during the exercise.
He says the measles programme will target people between the ages of nine and 59 months.
According to the health educator, the programme would include immunisation against COVID-19 and the Men-Afri vaccine would be given to youngsters between the ages of 10 and 11.
“Birth registration will be integrated; COVID-19 first and booster doses files would be available for eligible persons,’’ he said.
Mohammed said that the campaign would last for seven days.
He called on parents to avail their children of the mass exercise.
