The Federal Government has created emergency toll-free lines for residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
Residents of the FCT are currently experiencing increased dread due to the United States' terror alert.
A free toll line was established by the Ministry of Health for instant access to ambulance services in the nation's capital through the National Emergency Medical Service & Ambulance System (NEMSAS).
The initiative is still in its pilot stage, according to Tolu Ogunlesi, President Muhammadu Buhari's digital and new media advisor, who made this announcement via his Twitter account.
“It’s still in the pilot phase for now, and in the FCT. The Emergency Number is 112. It will provide ambulance pickup and emergency hospital care. Pls, no prank or ‘test’ calls”, Ogunlesi said.
The Nigeria Police Force also released emergency phone lines of commands across the country on Thursday, to help residents access security operatives in real-time events and incidents.
