The purported murder of a member of the Ebubeagu Security Outfit in the State has been confirmed by the Police Command in Ebonyi.

Ebube Agu, which in Igbo means "fear of a lion," is modelled after the Southwest security company Amotekun, which debuted at the beginning of last year.

The command's spokesman, Chris Anyanwu, stated that although they were aware of the killing, they hadn't yet received all of the pertinent information.

It happened on Sunday night at around 11:45 p.m., according to Friday Nnanna, the state's Ebubeagu Commander.

“On Sunday, somebody called me that some hoodlums were disturbing people in Ugwulangwu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state.

“So, I have to call our people in the area because Ugwulangwu is under Ohaozara.

“Well, the body of the victim has been deposited in the mortuary and investigation is ongoing,” he said.
