Police: Tenant sells landlord to kidnappers in Osun
Oladepo Asaolu, an aged landlord, had been missing for almost four days when Osun State Police Command officers came across his decomposing body.

According to reports, Asaolu, an inhabitant of Ora-Igbomina, Ifedayo Local Government Area, Osun State, was the Babaloja of the historic settlement.

One of Asaolu's tenants is said to have sold him to some kidnappers for N1 million.

A biker allegedly arrived at Asaolu's home in Ora-Igbomina at around 5 am on October 5, 2022, and took him somewhere unknown. Asaolu was then reported missing.

Prior to his body being discovered four days later in a bush, the deceased is reported to have told his neighbours that an unknown biker was bringing him to his farm.

When contacted on the telephone, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident.

“It is true that the man’s decomposing corpse was found in the bush on Sunday. I gathered that his tenant, an indigene of the Osan community, close to Ora-Igbomina, sold him to kidnappers at the rate of N1 million.

“Meanwhile, his abductors have been arrested four of them are present at the police net.”
