Wike, Makinde, Ortom To Shun Atiku's Campaign Launch

There were indications that the Incumbent Governors of Rivers, Oyo, and Benue States, Nyesom Wike, Seyi Makinde, and Samuel Ortom respectively, would not be present at the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Launch in Akwa Ibom State today.

The development was in line with the decision of the Wike's camp to distance itself from Atiku's Campaign Council, untill the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, resigns his position. The three aggrieved governors had boycotted the official inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), which took place in Abuja.

An aide to the Oyo governor, who spoke about the development, said his boss would not attend the Campaign Launch. The aide, who mentioned that Makinde's decision to boycott Campaign activities untill Ayu resigns still stands, said if the governor could stay away from the official launch of the Campaign, why should he go to Uyo. He also suggested that Wike, and other members of his camp would not attend the ceremony.
