According to the Kano State Fire Service, there were 15 deaths and N20 million worth of property damage in the state's fire events in October.
This is stated in a statement released on Thursday in Kano and signed by Saminu Abdullahi, spokesman for the Fire Service.
According to Mr. Abdullahi, the service also put out 35 fires over the time period, saving 24 lives as well as property worth N43.3 million.
32 rescue calls and six false alarms from citizens around the state, according to him, were responded to by the agency during that time.
The spokeswoman advised people to handle fire carefully to minimise fire outbreaks and warned drivers to obey traffic laws to prevent accidents on the state's roads.
