2023: Kogi govt tells residents to vote for APC

The Kogi state government has asked citizens to support All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates at all levels in order to win the general elections in 2023.

At the party's unveiling of its candidates for the National and State Assembly in Ehima, Okehi local government area, Kogi, Ozigi Salami-Deedat, the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, made the call to party supporters.

Ms Salami-Deedat acknowledged her happiness with the attendance at the event and praised the candidates and party officials for being "extremely credible" and "qualified" to represent their constituents.

“As a government, which has proven its salt and worth through infrastructure developmental strides, we expect nothing less than victory from the Presidential down to the state assembly elections,” said the commissioner. “This is because it’s on record the appraisal and praises being showered upon Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration by the populace.”

Ms Salami-Deedat added, “The residents said in all the years of the existence of the state, no governor had impacted so positively on critical sectors as Governor Bello had done.”

The commissioner further stated that it was based on the fact that the government was calling on all and sundry to come en masse and cast their votes for Bola Tinubu and all other APC candidates contesting in the 2023 polls in Kogi.
