Kate Raymond (PDP-Demsa constituency) has been named the deputy majority leader of the Adamawa House of Assembly.
The seat was filled on merit, according to the speaker of the house, Aminu Iya-Abbas (PDP), who made the announcement at the plenary on Monday in Yola.
He urged the representative to put more work and attention into passing laws that would help the public, especially her constituents who elected her to serve on their behalf.
After former leader Tukur Yetasure defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party, the speaker also announced the elevation of Japhet Kefas (PDP-Gombi constituency) to the position of house leader (NNPP).
Also, Hamidu Lekki (PDP-Yola North) as the new chairman of the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation and Budget, while Shuaibu Babas (PDP-Fufore constituency) was also appointed the chairman of the House Committee on Health.
The speaker explained that all the appointments took immediate effect.
