Victoria Dandaura has been abducted by unidentified gunmen; she is the wife of the Special Intelligence Squad chief of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The kidnapping was verified in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja by NSCDC spokesman Olusola Odumosu.
Mr. Odumosu disclosed that the event occurred on Wednesday at around 7:00 p.m. at the victim's home in Gidi-Gidi, close to Cattle market, Lafia, Nasarawa State.
He said: “unknown gunmen stormed the residence of Deputy Commandant, Apollos Dandaura, and took control of the environment by shooting sporadically in the air and thereafter whisked the wife away at gun point.
“She was kidnapped inside her living room and taken away without any traces for now.”
Mr Odumosu said that Mr Dandaura’s brother, a personnel of the Corps serving in Nasarawa State Command, ASC1 Ezekiel Dandaura, was shot during the attack.
“He sustained gunshot injuries in the cause of the attack and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital facility,” the spokesman said.
