President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate dismissal of Brigadier General Muhammad Kukah Fadah from his position as the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, less than six months after he took office.
The DG has been instructed to turn over to the most senior public official in the programme, according to Prime 9ja Online.
However, the Presidency had not given any justifications for firing Fadah as of the time of publication.
Credible sources in the Presidential Villa, however, informed Prime 9ja Online that the removal of the NYSC chief was not unrelated to the fact that he had demonstrated "glaring ineptitude" during the six months he had been in charge of the NYSC's operations.
The most senior civil servant is to act as the DG in the interim.
