CAFWCL: Bayelsa Queens defeat TP Mazembe to record first win

On Thursday night, Bayelsa Queens defeated TP Mazembe 2-0 in their second group match of the 2017 CAF Women's Champions League.

The Queens' victory marked their first in the competition.

The defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns defeated the Nigerian champions 2-1 in their opening group match on Monday, but the team miraculously recovered.

Joseph Miracle and Chinyere Grace each scored twice in the first half of the Group B match to give the Queens their first victory and all three points.

Additionally, it marks Bayelsa Queens' first triumph ever in the Interclub competition.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns pummel Wadi Degla in the other game of the group to sit comfortably atop of the Group B table with six points.

Bayelsa Queens now sit second in the group with three points only ahead of TP Mazembe thanks to superior goal difference.

The Prosperity Girls will host Wadi Degla in their last game of the group.
