The Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers continued their discussions on Friday in Münster, Germany, over the global repercussions of Russia's conflict in Ukraine and upcoming negotiations with Iran.
The group of industrialised nations will also talk about rumours of fresh arms shipments from Tehran to Russia, in addition to official violence against protesters during anti-government demonstrations in Iran.
John Kirby, the director of communications for the U.S. National Security Council, recently stated that there are still worries that Iran could provide Moscow with weapons like surface-to-surface missiles.
Combat drones are in addition to this.
The other members of the G7 are Britain, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, and the United States. Germany presently holds the G7 presidency.
In addition, German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann has arrived in Ukraine for his first visit to the country since Russia invaded it in February.
“We stand by Ukraine today, and we will continue to do so in future,” the politician said on Friday upon arrival at Kyiv’s main railway station.
On the agenda are talks with government officials and human rights activists.
The focus would be on the international prosecution of war crimes by the Russian military, which Germany wanted to support.
“Only if the community of states puts Russia in its place do freedom and security have a future in the world,” Mr Buschmann had said during a visit to the United Nations in October.
