On Monday afternoon, gunmen attacked Abu Sifau and his Lexus on Sabo-Oke, Sokoto Street in the city of Ilorin. They also snatched some cash from the man's car.
The crime allegedly took place at around 1:00 p.m. in full view of nearby neighbors, business owners, and pedestrians.
It was also said that the four armed robbers used masks and gunfire to frighten bystanders before swiping in for the kill.
The robbers followed the man's Lexus with the licence plate reading "Sarkin Samarin Bacita," according to a witness who described the incident.
“The car should be that of a traditional title holder in Bacita in the Edu local government area of Kwara. The Lexus car was going on the street, with two people inside the vehicle, when suddenly the Toyota Camry (muscle) overtook it and carted away (a) large sum of money,” stated the witness.
No one was injured in the robbery attack near an abandoned government-owned refuse disposal truck the community had called for its removal.
The police spokesman in Kwara, Okasanmi Ajayi, said he was unaware of the robbery.
