Niger: One killed, seven injured in road crash

One person was reported deceased and seven others injured in a single incident that happened on Monday in Lanle Shebe village, Lavun local government area, Niger, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The incident was reported to journalists in Minna on Tuesday by Kuwar Tsukwam, the FRSC sector commander, who stated that it happened on Monday at about 1:45 p.m.

According to Mr Tsukwam, the bus was travelling from New Bussa to Bida and had the registration number NBS 854 AA.

“Eight persons were involved in the accident; one of them died, while seven sustained injuries. The body of the dead person and the injured victims were taken to Kutigi General Hospital, and the vehicle involved was handed over to the police in Kutigi for further investigation,” he said.

Mr Tsukwam blamed the crash on speeding and advised motorists to observe speed limits to avoid crashes.
