Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has underlined his intention to back Peter Obi, the LP's presidential candidate, logistically.
Wike noted that Obi needed Rivers State's logistical support because of his role as a former governor during his presidential campaign.
On Friday, Wike pledged to assist in the organisation of Obi's presidential campaign.
While Obi was in town to dedicate a flyover in Port Harcourt, the state capital, the governor made this announcement.
However, Wike warned Obi that the Labour Party would not succeed in gaining any political positions in the state.
Wike made this statement yesterday in Port Harcourt. He said the PDP is the only party in Rivers State.
“I have no regret in saying I will support Obi with logistics. He is a former governor, and if he is coming to campaign here, I will give him logistics support,” he declared.
“I will give him vehicles and security; I must give him logistics support. And I told him yesterday that his party will not get even one position in Rivers, not the House of Assembly; there is no other party in Rivers. The only party we have here is PDP, Rivers State chapter.”
