Cristiano Ronaldo allegedly acknowledged regretting his decision to rejoin Manchester United, according to Piers Morgan.
Morgan claims that in April, he spoke with Ronaldo about the Premier League team.
A little over a year ago, the Portuguese captain's arrival back at Old Trafford was greeted with loud applause.
The 37-year-old has had a difficult second season under new coach Erik ten Hag.
Morgan stated in a column he wrote for The Times,” ‘I can’t just keep ignoring what’s going on inside the club right now,” he told me. “It’s so amateur. No defined goal, no leadership, no organization, just a desert of ideas. The future is very dark unless things change very fast.”
“I asked him if he regretted going back, and he sighed: ‘Perhaps my heart spoke louder than reason.'”
Last week, Ronaldo and Morgan spoke for 90 minutes after their phone conversation.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner had harsh words for the Red Devils’ administration, manager Erik ten Hag, and his former and current teammates.
United is in the process of ripping Ronaldo’s contract up right now.
