Police thwart bandits’ attack in Kaduna, arrest one, recover five motorcycles

On Thursday, the police in Kaduna stopped a bandit attack, detained one suspect, and seized five motorcycles.

Muhammad Jalige, the state police's spokesman, reported on Friday that motorcycle-riding bandits had been seen on the Galadimawa-Tumburku Road in the Giwa LGA.

Yekini Ayoku, the state's commissioner of police, directed the divisional team and "Operation Whirl Punch" to clear the roadway of criminals.

The bandits fled in various directions with gunshot wounds during the subsequent fight, Mr. Jalige continued. "In the ensuing engagement, the outlaws caved in to superior fire power and professional tactical manoeuvre of the police agents.

“This was not before one of the outlaws, resident at Madugu Village was apprehended and five of their operational motorcycles recovered.

“The suspect, who has confessed to being a bandit, and exhibits were immediately moved to the police station for thorough investigation,” he stated.

Mr Jalige enjoined residents of the area to be on the lookout for suspicious individuals with bullet wounds and report them to the police and to other security agencies.
