The Portuguese Football Federation requests that Cristiano Ronaldo be given the goal-scoring credit for Portugal's opening goal against Uruguay in the FIFA rankings.
Ronaldo erroneously believed he had scored his second goal of the Qatar 2022 World Cup as he jumped to head in Portugal's opening goal in their 2-0 victory over Uruguay.
Former Manchester United forward, who is currently a free agent, claims to have touched Bruno Fernandes's inbound cross.
FIFA, on the other hand, disagreed and gave Fernandes the goal, stating: "Using the Connected Ball Technology housed in Adidas Al Rihla Official Match Ball, we can definitively show no contact on the ball from Cristiano Ronaldo for the opening goal in the game."

However, @elchiringuitotv reports that “the Portuguese Federation are planning to offer evidence to FIFA to prove that the first goal against Uruguay was Cristiano Ronaldo and not Bruno Fernandes.”
