Thugs attack Atiku’s supporters in Rivers

A group of Atiku Abubakar supporters from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, were attacked by suspected political thugs in Rivers state. At least three injured are currently undergoing medical care in an unidentified facility.

The victims include Nnamdi Nwogu, the PDP Presidential Campaign Council's Omuma Local Government Area Coordinator, and Udochukwu Nwakpala, who was allegedly shot.

Assailants attacked them on Sunday while they were purportedly pasting Atiku campaign posters in the Eberi locality.

The victims equally sustained life threatening machete cuts on various parts of their bodies with Nwogu narrating that over 30 youths brandishing machetes and guns swooped on five of them.

SP Grace Iringe-Koko, Police Public Relations Officer, Rivers Command has yet to respond to the development.
