Two brothers arrested for killing their visitor, concealing body

Sulazza Sule and Manman Sule have been detained by homicide investigators working with the Kebbi State Police Command for reportedly hosting Samaila Kamuna before subsequently shooting him to death.

The crime was announced to news reporters in Birnin-Kebbi by Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, the Kebbi State Commissioner of Police.

According to Kontagora, Samaila Kamuna, 32, of Rijau Local Government Area, Niger State, travelled to Bature Village, Kambuwa District, Ngaski Local Government Area on November 2, 2022, at around 3 a.m. for the purpose of farming, and the suspects hosted him.

He added: “While Kamuna was staying with the brothers, he was shot to death in their house.

“The two brothers were suspected to have killed the victim with a view to hiding their criminal acts. The investigation is ongoing.”

The CP also mentioned that on November 2, 2022, at about 8am, a gang of suspected bandits barricaded Bena-Mairairai Road.

When the information was received, mobile policemen were immediately mobilised and on reaching the scene, a gun duel ensued between the security men and the bandits.

As a result, three already kidnapped victims, namely: Jamila Ahamad, Shamsiya Ahamad and Tasi’u Haruna, all of Mairairai village, were rescued unhurt and have been reunited with their families.

Kontogora stated that one Toyota Corolla, ash in colour with Registration number Kano, DTF 236 LP, belonging to the bandits was also recovered.

It was also gathered that the police have an intensive patrol of the area to prevent the further incursion of the bandits.
