Yobe's governor, Mai Mala Buni, praised President Muhammadu Buhari's administration for approving the 90-kilometre Buni Gari-Gulani road's restoration.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) gave its approval on Wednesday to the renovation of Yobe's 90-kilometer Buni Gari-Gulani route.

It will cost N4 billion and take 36 months to complete.

In a statement released on Thursday, Mr Buni emphasised that the recent flood had devastated the road.

He said that the government, which was burdened with the massive responsibility of providing essential infrastructure, was greatly relieved by the gesture.

The governor claimed that the route will significantly increase local business communities' trade and commerce.

“This approval gives the people of the state a sense of belonging. We are proud of this commitment and would support the execution of the project in the interest of our people and the business community visiting the state from within and outside the state,” Mr Buni said.
