Air Force operatives rescue seven kidnapped expatriates

The Nigerian Air Force was praised by the Kaduna State Government for rescuing seven abducted Chinese nationals.

In a statement released on Saturday, Samuel Aruwan, the commissioner for internal security and home affairs for Kaduna State, said:

In a statement made in Kaduna, Aruwan claimed that the victims had been abducted in June by militants operating in a neighbouring state.

He said: “According to a report from the Nigerian Air Force, Special Forces, under the 271 NAF detachment, conducted the operation in Kampanin Doka and Gwaska areas of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.

“The team successfully rescued the seven expatriates who have been conveyed to a secure facility.”

The commissioner said that Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed satisfaction with the development and commended the Chief of Air Staff and the Commander and men of the 271 NAF detachment for the operation.

Aruwan said that the citizens would be updated on further developments.
