Akwa Ibom governor: Atiku Abubakar best option to rescue Nigeria
According to Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is still the best bet to save Nigeria before the 2023 presidential election.

The PDP in the state has continued to gather momentum, according to the chairman of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaigns Council, who was speaking in Uyo, the state's capital, after hundreds of defectors, led by former APC "eggheads," returned to the state's ruling party over the weekend.

At a ceremony conducted at the Unity Park on Udo Udoma Avenue in Uyo, Mr. Nse Ntuen, a former factional speaker of the state House of Assembly, Archbishop Samuel Akpan, a former vice chairman of the PDP, and Hon. Ekerete Ekpenyong, a former chairman of the Uyo local government area, all joined the PDP.

While emphasising that "Akwa Ibom and the entire South-South region will be better off with the PDP in power at the state and the centre," Emmanuel personally welcomed them along with hundreds of others from various political parties, promised them equal treatment, and warned them against engaging in anti-party activities.

"I can promise you that nothing compares to the way you just returned, went to the rear of the line. Not at all, no. We are restoring you completely. Nobody will invade your space because everyone has a personal space. He remarked, "You all have your own spaces.

The PDP's presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, was commended as a "detribalised Nigerian" who will contribute fairly to the state and area.
