The president's spokesperson, Garba Shehu, reaffirmed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
Mr Shehu claims that President Buhari will accept the invitation extended by President Umaro Sissolo Embalo of Guinea-Bissau to attend the special event being hosted at the Presidential Villa.
Avenue President Muhammadu Buhari will be inaugurated in the capital city of Bissau as part of Mr Buhari's activities there, according to Mr Shehu.
The one-day celebration, according to him, "will highlight Buhari's leadership role in the West Coast, particularly in Guinea Bissau, where he regularly counsels and inspires leaders on the virtues of peace, political inclusivity, integrity, and stimulating a strong economy that fosters shared prosperity."
The presidential adviser further mentioned that Mr Buhari and the Nigerian delegation will meet bilaterally while in Bissau.
Mr Shehu revealed that the National Security Adviser retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno, Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubairu Dada, would travel with the president.
