Christmas cow kills former youth president in Bayelsa

A former youth leader from the Obogoro village in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Sobokime Igodo, was murdered by a cow on Christmas Eve.

According to information gathered by Prime 9ja Online, the deceased and a number of friends contributed funds to purchase the cow, butcher it, and divide the meat as they always did each year.

The two butchers hired to slaughter the cow at the deceased's home, where the sharing was to take place, reportedly unable to get the animal to stand and kept trying to find a method to kill it.

Igodo, who was inside the house, had emerged but was preoccupied with a phone conversation and had his attention diverted from the drama involving the cow and the two butchers. The dead was suddenly assaulted by the cow, who kicked him so forcefully that he fell to the ground and shattered his spine.

He allegedly died after being transferred from the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Yenagoa, to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers State.
