Christmas: Kalu calls Christians to emulate Jesus Christ’s life style

Dr Orji Kalu, a former governor of Abia State and the Senate's chief whip, has urged Christians to emulate Jesus Christ's moral leadership and adhere to the Bible's teachings in all that they do.

While wishing Nigerians a Merry Christmas this year, Kalu warned politicians against making incendiary remarks that might inflame the public.

The former governor urged Nigerians to pursue their goals with love, piety, patriotism, forgiveness, fraternity, and selflessness, noting that the nation would be better off as a single, indivisible one.

In a message of goodwill, Kalu asked the political establishment and the voters to uphold democratic principles before, during, and after the general elections in 2023.

He said: “as we mark yet another Christmas in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, it is imperative to reflect on our lives as individuals and as a nation.

“We must exhibit the exemplary qualities of Jesus Christ and uphold the teachings of the holy bible in our endeavours.

“The season should be dedicated for prayers for the nation and her leadership.

“Leaders must strive to live up to the expectations of the people.

“Public office at all levels should be seen as a clarion call to serve and not for self aggrandizement and as such political office holders must be held accountable for their actions”.

Kalu, while reiterating his commitment to the discharge of his legislative duties and responsibilities, promised to sustain his good works in a bid to make life meaningful for the people.
