The National Orientation Agency (NOA) urged Nigerians to pray throughout the Christmas season for rekindled love, harmony, and fraternity among people as the nation celebrates Christmas with the rest of the globe.
NOA Director-General Dr Garba Abari made the following call during his Christmas message of goodwill to the Nigerian people, noting that it was required due to the timing of Christmas and the electioneering season in Nigeria.
Nigeria has made significant progress on its path to becoming a nation, according to a statement made by Paul Odenyi, the assistant director of press at Abari. It must prevent political squabbling from causing division or endangering the fabric of unity it has cultivated. Odenyi said that Christmas is a wonderful time to connect with one another and enjoy with people of all political persuasions.
Abari continued by urging his fellow countrymen to use the holiday season as a time to pray for Nigeria's peace and prosperity as well as the wellbeing of their neighbours.
To paraphrase what he said: “Christmas shows God’s unselfish love for man, manifested in the birth of Jesus Christ as a gift to humanity.
As he put it, “If we all selflessly love and care for the next person, irrespective of their religious, political and other persuasions, it will translate into a sacrificial love for our country and a genuinely collective effort at national development.”
As a result, he urged his fellow Nigerians to follow Christ’s example and restore the country’s broken bonds of love, togetherness, and goodwill.
The head of the NOA urged his compatriots to celebrate Christmas lawfully and peacefully.
