Lamidi Gbolahan, 23, was ordered to be held on remand by an Iyaganku Magistrates' Court in Ibadan on Thursday for an alleged armed robbery and murder.
Gbolahan is accused with conspiracy, armed robbery, and murder; his home location was not disclosed.
Due to a lack of jurisdiction, the Magistrate, O. A. Akande, declined to accept the defendant's plea.
She instructed the police to provide the state Director of Public Prosecutions the case file back so she can provide guidance.
In the meanwhile, she mandated that the defendant be held in a jail or prison.
The matter was postponed until January 26 for mention.
According to the prosecutor, Philip Amusan, Gbolahan committed the crimes on November 25 at around 12:40 a.m. in the Iyana Agbala neighbourhood of Ibadan.
According to Amusan, Wasiu Aremu was attacked by the defendant and other fugitives who were carrying firearms and other lethal weapons.
He said that Gbolahan robbed Aremu of his phone, which was valued N80,000, and N50,000 in cash.
Amusan further claimed that the defendant illegally killed Toheeb Olalere.
He claimed that the offences violated Sections 319(1) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000 and Sections 6(B) and 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms Act, 2004.
