The state administration of Sokoto State donated N8 million to the families of the four policemen who were slain on December 5, 2022 in an ambush by robbers.
This information was provided to the Prime9jaOnline on Thursday in Sokoto by Usaini Gumel, the State Commissioner of Police.
Each family earned N2 million, according to him.
Gumel spoke outside the 2022 CP Conference, which Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Units, Area Commanders, and other essential personnel were attending.
According to Prime9jaOnline, a bandits ambushed the four cops on December 5 in the state's Sabon Birni Local Government area, killing them.
The CP also stated that the command had supported the families and determined all of the deceased personnel's rights, all of which will shortly be paid.
The command, according to Gumel, has implemented measures to stop all sorts of violence, hate speech, the spread of false information, political violence, and related offences.
He claims that in order to secure a trouble-free electioneering process and elections, the police and other law enforcement authorities have collaborated through a single platform.
He said that individuals attempting to sabotage the political process are now afraid after the recent arrest, prosecution, and conviction of a politician found to have numerous voter cards.
Gumel stated earlier that the conference was called to examine the performance of the command and suggest remedies to remaining problems in security operations.
He noted that the purpose was to exchange knowledge and improve security measures for protecting residents' lives and property.
The police chief has already said goodbye to a few policemen who have left the force.
They consisted of three ASPs, Bala Danladi, Sabo Sahabi, and Ibrahim Shu'aibu, as well as four DSPs, Shehu Bawa, Haladu Malam, Ibrahim Ladan, and Maidawa Atto.
The Commissioner delivered gifts to seven retired officers on behalf of the command's Welfare Committee, which was led by DCP Ibrahim Adamu.
