The FCTA's Transportation Secretariat has informed fuel station owners in the FCT that the organisation will no longer be responsible for the traffic congestion and other dangers that their operations generate.
Ughamadu Ifeanyi, Deputy Director of Information for the Transportation Secretariat, issued a statement yesterday in which he issued the warning.
Drivers were having trouble getting past the FCT along the stations' paths, he said, so caution was advised.
As a result, to maintain efficient traffic flow on the highways leading up to and away from the filling stations in Abuja, the Transportation Secretariat ordered all of the stations to maintain only one queue lane available. Infringers run the risk of having the doors of their stations shut.
The directive was made, according to the statement, to shield the populace from potential social and security problems.
