Five things you don’t want to miss on Africa Magic’s Turn Up Friday show

Turn Up Friday, Africa Magic's Friday night programme, has returned for a third time and has lived up to its promises of fun, excitement, and keeping viewers pleasantly delighted during the holiday season.

The programme is back on television, and each Friday, hundreds of thousands of viewers continue to watch it.

They tune in in search of an unrestricted, affordable good time.

Here are five reasons to set a reminder for this Friday's edition in case you are running late.

1. Big prizes are up for grabs

While the show features non-stop DJ mixes of hit songs and premium entertainment, there are also contests, sponsored giveaways, and many cash prizes to be won. You too can be a lucky winner if you participate in any activities. All you have to do is tune in to AM Urban, DStv channel 153 or AM Family, DStv channel 154 every Friday by  9:30pm, and GOtv channel 2. Watch out for trivia questions.

2. The renowned host

Award-winning media personality Do2Dtun, the Energy Gad, hosts the TurnUp Friday show. He has hosted the show three seasons in a row and continues to prove that he isn’t known as the Energy Gad for nothing. Do2tun understands how to keep his audience engaged and entertained. It is one of the many reasons he is regarded as Nigeria’s most-loved hypeman.

3. DJ Battle Takeover

Another segment of Turn Up Friday you don’t want to miss is this one. Two DJs compete in a DJ battle takeover to show off their superior skills and win a prize. In the last episode, DJ Samplex and DJ Shoboy competed for the title of upcoming DJ by performing nonstop mixes of hit songs, but DJ Shoboy took the crown after the viewers voted him the best DJ of the night. It wasn’t only Shoboy that won; even the viewers were winners as they got to boogie down to fire mixes.

4. The show’s guest stars

In addition to the show’s top-notch entertainment, several well-known star guests are invited to the party and also get to choose the winners. This season, Ex-BBNaija stars like Liquorose, Allyson, and Adekunle have featured on the show, and more are expected to grace our screens this season.

5. The ‘moment of fame’ segment

This segment of the show focuses on the viewers at home. Dance clips of viewers vibing and dancing are submitted and played on the live show. The most talented of the bunch then participate in a dance-off. The finalists will compete to show the world who has the best moves and the lucky winner will walk away with a cash prize.

Catch the show live this Friday on Africa Magic Urban (DStv ch. 153 and GOtv ch. 6) at 9:30pm, and Africa Magic Family (DStv ch. 154 and GOtv ch. 2) at 10pm.
