Attacks on Kaura Local Government Area in Kaduna State have been ongoing, according to a group operating under the Kaura Development Forum (KDF) banner.
The group's convener, Ezra Mamman, said in a statement released on Saturday that despite the residents' desire to live in peace, the region has turned into a terrorist killing ground.
The organisation was labelled as disgusting following last week's unjustified attacks on many villages, which resulted in at least 40 fatalities.
“The attacks on Mallagum, Kpak and Sakong communities from 14th to 18th December occurred despite early warning signals.
“The various checkpoints that dot the roads in the area do not respond to distress calls,” it added
The Forum, therefore, called on governments at all levels and security agencies to be more proactive to end acts of terrorism in not only Kaura Local Government Area, but Kaduna State, and the entire country.
It also called on community leaders to speak against the atrocities meted out on the people in the area before more lives would be lost to mindless killers.
KDF appealed to the state and federal governments to come to the aid of survivors, many of whom had moved to internally displaced persons camps.
