The N268 billion 2023 appropriations bill was signed into law by Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
In November, Ganduje submitted N245 billion for approval to the State's House of Assembly.
Governor Ganduje said the budget was examined by lawmakers and increased to N268 billion to support the state's social and economic development immediately after signing the agreement.
According to him, the budget was created to launch new projects and expedite the completion of those already underway.
Ganduje indicated his willingness to maintain a friendly relationship with the legislature while underlining his commitment to implementing the budget in line with the law.
Alhaji Hamisu Chidari, the Speaker, said that the House had increased the budget by nearly N23 billion.
“We had interactions with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and also had public hearing where we collected so many inputs which attracted more money to the tune of N23 billion,” he said.
