Kanye West's former business manager has been unable to locate the disgraced singer, making it difficult to serve him with legal documents, Prime9jaOnline gathered.
During a court hearing, West's manager, Thomas St. John, stated that he had been searching for West for several weeks with no success.
St. John sued West, claiming that West breached their contract by failing to pay the agreed-upon monthly fee. According to court documents, West's manager stated that West stopped paying his bills after a "aggressive" meeting.
According to St. John, he began working for West in March of that year. West, he claims, was so pleased with his work that he appointed him chief financial officer of one of the musician's businesses (called Donda).
The business manager claimed he was gathering West’s financial data and planning next steps.
St. John claimed to have informed West of his desire for a two-year contract. “[St. John] needed guarantee that [West] wouldn’t abruptly abandon the commercial relationship, in addition to the financial costs and hazards associated with committing to [West] as clients. But Mr. St. John offered to settle for a contract lasting at least 18 months, as stated in the lawsuit. According to St. John, West signed a contract lasting 18 months.
St. John’s dual role at West as chief financial officer and “most senior financial advisor” led to his hiring. St. John was to be paid a “monthly retainer fee” of $300,000.
